When to Replace Your Furnace

When to Replace My Colorado Furnace.

Furnaces are far from immortal. If you take good care of it, your furnace will last considerably longer than a neglected one. It will still unfortunately not last forever. Here are some signs you might want to start looking for a fresh furnace:

1. It’s Old

Furnaces generally last 15-20 years. Afterwards, they start to have more issues than they’re worth. If you know your furnace is 20 plus years old, you should at least start looking for a new one. That way, if your furnace fails, you’ll know what to replace it with.

2) It’s Costing You an Arm and a Leg

As furnaces age, they become less and less efficient, especially when compared to newer furnaces. If your electric or gas bills are climbing too high, it might be time to swap out your furnace for a more efficient one.

3) It’s Getting Too Loud

Furnaces usually make some noise, but when they age, they often make loud banging noises due to internal failures. If your furnace is newer and makes loud noises, this could be due to sediment build-up, in which case you should contact a repairman at Carbon Valley.

4) It’s Not Doing Its Job

When furnaces start to give out, they may do a poor job of heating your home. If this is the case, find yourself a new furnace fast.

5) You Have to Get It Repaired Frequently

The older a furnace is, the harder it is to maintain. If you find yourself scheduling repairs and buying replacement parts more than once every year, find a new furnace.

6) Your House Has Become Noticeably Stuffier

Besides warming the air, furnaces cleanse and add humidity to it. When furnaces start to lose their touch, the air becomes dustier. People with sensitive allergies or asthma may have respiratory issues.

If a few or more of these symptoms apply to your furnace, call Carbon Valley at 303.625.7963. We’d be happy to install a brand new furnace in your Firestone home.
